I loved taking being a guest on LBC radio’s The Business Show on Monday night. During the hour long programme, myself, the presenter Clive Bull, and Emma Jones, the wonderful founder of Enterprise Nation (which supports thousands of small businesses across the UK), answered questions from members of the public looking for help with their businesses.
Questions included
- How can I get the product I’m manufacturing in Egypt into shops in the UK?
- How can blogging improve my chances of getting hired?
- How can I get more clients for my small business?
- How can I stand out against the competition?
- Do I need a website for my business?
We were also joined by Jeff Patterson of Fourex UK, who won Virgin Media’s Voom business competition last year. He told us how in the years preceding his win, he had sold everything including his house to fund his business, which has developed an incredible machine which enables people with ANY foreign currency to swap it for British pounds. Since winning, he says, he business has gone from strength to strength, and his machines will now be rolled out at airports and stations across the UK and then the world.
He said
There’s nothing like a bit of Richard Branson magic dust to take you to the next level.
